Math Connections in the Digital Age: General Mathematics maintains its balanced incorporation of the basics and provisions for higher order thinking skills, for applications, and for the use of technology. It engages the students with its creative style that promotes self-directed learning. Discussions are made easy to understand by providing relatable concepts and ideas, realistic examples, and interesting exercises. The learning competencies in the book comply with the DepEd’s K to 12 Curriculum for senior high school. The book focuses on teaching the students how to solve problems involving rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions and how to solve business-related problems and apply logic to real-life situations.

Math Connections in the Digital Age: Statistics and Probability is a comprehensive textbook that aims to develop independent learning among students. It is a problem-based textbook that uses both guided-discovery and inquiry-based approaches in teaching concepts. Discussions of topics and exercises are anchored on various contemporary situations. In effect, learners become interested and eager to learn probability and statistics. The learning competencies in the textbook rigidly comply with the DepEd’s K to 12 Curriculum for senior high school. This textbook focuses on teaching the students how to find the mean and variance of a random variable, apply sampling techniques and distributions, estimate population mean and proportion, perform hypothesis testing on population mean and proportion, and perform correlation and regression analyses on real-life problems.

Math for Engaged Learning: Statistics and Probability 2nd Edition is intended to cater to the needs of senior high school students following the standards set by DepEd as indicated in the K to 12 curriculum guide. Emphasis is given on mathematical skills and performance tasks or project-based activities. It uses mastery and analytical approach. The discussions vary in style depending on the topic of interest so that the approach may involve backward design, discovery approach, or outcomes-based approach. This book covers random variables and probability distributions, normal distribution, sampling and sampling distributions, estimation of parameters, tests of hypothesis, and correlation and regression analyses.

The Craft of Speech: Oral Communication in Context is both practical and critical. How does The Craft of Speech use
both approaches? Consider these two major frameworks:

1. Transaction Model of communication. We define “communication in context” as not
only learning how to communicate well for one’s personal and professional advantage
(practical). We define it as communicating ethically and sensitively (critical), guided by
hightened awareness of the bigger social realities that human beings knowingly and
unknowingly construct with their varied communicative transactions.

2. Social Justice. For values integration, The Craft of Speech focuses on civic engagement and
developing a social conscience. These two frameworks shape The Craft of Speech in its
“learn and apply” sequence, manifested in the two-lesson-per-unit structure of the book.

Ready to Write: A Reading and Writing Textbook for Senior High School This book on reading and writing skills is a response to the need for quality educational materials that are compliant with the trusts of the senior high school curriculum. Guided by the theories of constructivism, meaning construction, communicative competence, learnercenteredness, project-based learning, standards-based assessment, and Understanding by Design, it provides the students with the needed, and even beyond, DepEd-mandated competencies.

The engaging activities and tasks are arranged in a way that they build from simple to complex and progressively become more contextualized to real life and the different disciplines senior high students may later on enter. From worksheet exercises to performance tasks, this textbook contains reading, writing, and discussion activities meant to hone the skills of the learners.

Science in Today’s World: Earth and Life Science is written in compliance with the Department of Education K to 12 Curriculum. By using the book, students will increase their understanding of how earth science relates to the world and be in a better position to make informed decisions on scientific matters that have social, health, or environmental impacts. As they feel involved in the text, their understanding will enable them to perform scientific processes and skills and demonstrate scientific values and attitudes. STW Earth Science covers a wide range of topics, from the dynamic processes that occur on Earth to the events that formed the universe. It provides a significant discussion of the origin, structure, and composition of the universe, the Solar System, and Earth, how humans use and abuse natural resources, and the exogenic and endogenic processes on Earth. Several essential features have also been included in order to add more contexts, provide more content, and maintain engagement to the lessons. Lastly, appropriate assessment tools are included in order to properly evaluate student understanding.
