Ang seryeng PINTIG ng Lahing Pilipino ay lumilinang ng mga kasanayang nakasalig sa batayang konseptuwal sa pagtuturo ng Filipino na itinakda ng K to 12 Kurikulum ng DepEd. Pinapatnubayan nito ang mga mag-aaral sa pagpapahusayng mga makrong kasanayan— pakikinig, pagsasalita, pagbasa, pagsulat, at panonood.

Isinaalang-alang din sa seryeng ito ang mga konsepto hinggil sa pangangailangang panlipunan, lokal at global na pamayanan, at ang kalikasan ng mga mag-aaral.

Makatutulong ang serye sa paglinang ng mga kaisipan at pilosopiyang Pilipino sa pamamagitan ng paglalakip ng mga piling akda at tekstong hahamon sa kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa kritikal na pag-iisipat replektibong panunuri.

Tinatalakay ang mga aralin gamit ang makabagong teknolohiya upang mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga mag-aaral sa kapaki-pakinabang na gawain tungo sa mga angkop na propesyon. Nakapaloob din sa serye ang paggamit ng mga teorya sa kalikasan at pagtuturo ng wika, mga teorya at simulain sa pagsusuring panliterasi, at mga pagdulog sa pagtuturo ng mga akdang pampanitikan. Sa tulong din nito, naisasabuhay ang mga pagpapahalagang Pilipino na nakasalig sa mga paksang tungkol sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan, pagkakapantay-pantay anuman ang kasarian, paggalang sa karapatang pantao, at pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at katarungan sa bayan.

May dalawang aklat na nakalaan sa bawat baitang/antas. Ang mga ito ay ang Batayang Aklat at ang Learning Guide.
• • Batayang Aklat—Ang bawat aralin ay naaayon sa antas ng pagkatuto na itinatadhana ng Department of Education. Ito ay binubuo ng sumusunod na mga bahagi: Simulan Natin; Basahin Natin na nahahati sa mga gawaing Payamanin Natin, Talakayin Natin, Tukuyin Natin, at Isabuhay Natin; Linangin Natin na binubuo ng mga pagsasanay pangwika; at Likhain Natin.
  • Learning Guide—Naglalaman ito ng iba’t ibang estratehiya at pamamaraan sa pagtuturo. Nagtataglay rin ito ng mga sagot sa pagsasanay at pagpapahalagang nililinang sa bawat aralin. May kalakip din itong curriculum map upang maihatid nang maayos at malinaw ang mga aralin sa mga mag-aaral.
